vivisection in the news

On 19th September, 'The Guardian' posted an article online called 'The European Commission has broken its promise to revise regulations on vivisection'. That week the European Commission broke its promise to improve the protection of animals used in research once again, when it reneged on publishing its proposal for the revision of animal-testing legislation.
The revision of Directive 86/609/EEC on the protection of animals used in experiments in Europe would have been a once-in-a-generation chance move away from animal experimentation and towards more reliable and humane alternatives. The article can be read at
