anti-shooting week

22nd-28th September is Animal Aid's anti-shooting week, ahead of the start of the pheasant-shooting season on 1st October. About 42 million pheasants and partridges are intensively reared and released each year to be shot at for the amusement of paying 'sportsmen' in this country.
During anti-shooting week, people will be out on the streets with information stalls about blood sports and petitions against game-bird shooting.
Sign up now to Animal Aid's online petition to call for a ban on the production of birds for ‘sport’ shooting to be introduced into Britain, at www.animalaid.org.uk/h/f/ACTIVE/petition/?id=9&campaign=pheasant
