On 7th September, 'The Guardian' published a report on the
comments made by Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which last year earned a
joint share of the Nobel Peace Prize; he said that people should
reduce their meat consumption to tackle global warming. He said that
diet change is important because of the huge greenhouse gas emissions
and the many other environmental problems - including habitat
destruction - caused by the rearing of cattle and other livestock
animals.
