* talk on faunal archaeology - 25th March

Where: the Friends' Meeting-house, 6 Church Street, Colchester. CO1 1NF
Date: Wed 25th Mar 2009 @ 19:30 until 21:00 ( past event )
On the 25th March, Adam Wightman, an archaeologist from the Colchester Archaeological Trust, will give us an illustrated talk on faunal archaeology - this is the study of animal remains. He will talk about animals in Colchester during the Roman period and after, ie their exploitation for meat, leather, milk, traction, hunting, sacrifice, etc and even as domestic pets.
This talk will be really interesting - do come along and enjoy it! It is the first time that the Trust has presented a talk on faunal archaeology, and probably the first time in history that a local vegan group has had a talk on archaeology of any kind!
