If you are vegan or interested in veganism, if you care about animals and the environment, and if you are under 18 or under 16, then there are several organisations with youth sections which you can join and also some useful web-sites where you can find information.

The Vegan Society
If you are under 16, membership of the Vegan Society costs £7 a year. There are some youth pages in the quarterly magazine 'The Vegan', and a small section on their web-site called 'kids' zone' at www.vegansociety.com/html/people/lifestyle/families/kids_zone/

In 2007, The Vegan Society produced a booklet 'Teen vegan', and an interactive CD-ROM for young people which is available free to schools or costs £5, from the Vegan Society.

You can sign up to their monthly e-news mailing list or download their youth group newsletter online. If you join Animal Aid, you will receive a free T-shirt, membership card, window sticker, poster and badge, and they will keep you updated on campaigns and action alerts by sending you 'Outrage', the Animal Aid quarterly magazine. They have an online shop, videos, 'free stuff', 'fun stuff', more serious information and how to get active. There is an online shop.

Viva! (Vegetarians International Voice for Animals)
If you are under 18, you can join Viva! for £5 a year, and you'll receive a magazine, posters, stickers and lots of advice; their youth section is called VivaACTIVE, and they have set up a Viva! Vine scheme. There is a youth section on their web-site which is at www.viva.org.uk/ - this youth section has a 'teen links' sub-section at www.viva.org.uk/youth/links.html and also a pen pals page.
